Calendar will not sync from iphone to ical since 10.5.2 update

My iphone has worked perfectly since I bought it last summer & I have been raving about it!

I updated to 10.5.2 and now I am having a syncing problem.
If I put an appointment in the iphone it will not sync to ical, but it does sync from ical to the iphone.

This is all new since 10.5.2.

Are there some simple steps to follow to resolve this issue?

    Try resetting the sync history on your Mac which is done with iSync preferences via the iSync application located in your Applications folder.

    After resetting the sync history, restart your Mac and try syncing again.

    I had a similar problem, though it only seemed to be with iCal syncing. I followed the instructions to remove the mobile device tools and had no immediate success, but after force-replacing the calendars through iTunes, starting with just one, then incrementing until they were all synced.

    My feedback:

    I finally decide to restore my iPhone (and also reinstall iTunes before the restore).

    Everything is working fine now.
    Leopard 10.5.2 with iPhone 1.1.3

    I've done everything so far suggested and have no success syncing iCal to iPhone. (Other syncs seem to be okay).

    I second this issue. Apple needs to improve their tech support and resolve this issue. The h support has been unable to help me as well and does not seem to give a SH*T!

    I have read your multiple posts, and thank you in advance for tirelessly writing. You must do this for a living.
    I have pretty much the same issues with appointments created on iPhone not posting to iCal. I also have some issues with Emails that either never seem to appear on the iPhone, or are incredibly late in their arrival. but here is the one question I have for now: If I do as you instruct with resetting the sync history, will anything get lost. I know that is a wild question, but I just want to make sure that the appointments that reside solely on my iPhone do not disappear by resetting. Maybe the better question is, is there any data at risk?

    You're welcome.

    Resetting the sync history on your Mac does not affect any data stored on your iPhone or on your Mac but maintaing a backup of your most important data on your Mac is a good idea - especially when syncing this data with a device such as the iPhone.

    The Address Book application and iCal include simple/easy/fast backup options. I always update my backup before making any significant changes - adding, removing or editing this data.

    Who is your email account provider for this email account?

    Is the email account an IMAP or POP account?

    Are you also accessing this account with an email client on your computer such as the Mail application?

    Messages arriving late has nothing to do with the iPhone or the iPhone's email client, or with any email client used to access the account. This has to do with the incoming mail server for the email account.

    If a POP account that you are also accessing with an email client on your Mac, what is your account setting for removing messages from the server when downloaded by the email client used?

    1. got the back up done. After I answer your couple of quesitons, i will do the reset.
    2. I am responding to you using my .mac account, which, as you know, is IMAP.
    3. In addition, I do have a POP ( Yahoo) account that I use a great deal. I use the Mac Mail application to grab the Yahoo e mails for me, as I thought that would be the easiest set up. ( Just launch Mail and every e mail is available for viewing). I suspect you are going to advise me to take the steps to turn my POP Yahoo into an IMAP Yahoo???.
    4. So I think I may have answered you question about accessing this account with an email client, right? I am using Mail.
    5. Thanks for the thought on the incoming e mail server. Good to know.
    6. My Mac account settings for removing messages from the server when downloaded by the email client ( Mail?) are: (1) for the Yahoo - I looked under Accounts/Advanced. And, if that is the right place, hopefully, I have set it to remove copy from server after retrieving a message after 1 month. ( just being careful). (2) I do not see choices for my .mac IMAP account, except under Trash, and for that I have also chosen 1 month before permanently removing.

    How'd I do?? I want to answer your questions as specifically and succinctly as possible. Your assistance is much appreciated.

    Hate to bother you. I tried the rest of the Sync history 2 separate times, with Restarts each time. The same issues exist. I add an appointment to the iPhone and it does not show on my Mac thru iCal. Suggestions?
