Hi. It always seems to be the scroll-down that goes first. Sometimes using a clear spirit, such as denatured alcohol (or vodka...) when you roll the scroll-ball upside-down on the cloth helps, instead of the water suggested here
I resolved my issues with this.
1. I tried Compressed air.
2. I tried Windex/Cleaner.
3. What worked.... I used a Tacky packing tape and rotated the ball while dabbing it with the tape.
Good luck!Dual 2 G5, Mac OS X (10.4.10)
You are a genious! I've had my mighty mouse for only a few months and sure enough the scroll down stopped working. Your idea with the packing tape worked! Unbelievable! Thanks so much for the help!!MacBook 2.0 C2D, Mac OS X (10.5)
First: I love the discussion forums! Thanks for your help, everyone.
Second: Be sure to try the least abrasive methods first. Use a damp cloth first, then if necessary, a dilute cleaner, and if further action is needed try a more invasive method like the toothpick.24'' iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)
