UGH!!!! I posted yesterday about my "call failed" problem. I don't know if it's resolved or not because it happens intermittantly.

Now my sync is taking forever. First it was the contacts. I went into sync history as directed here and cleared it. That somewhat solved the problem for the next sync (it was still slow, but not more than 5 minutes). Then my calendar sync took forever. Clearing the sync history again seemed to help. But having to clear the history every time is annoying. Then I found a suggestion to go into utilities and paste a command into terminal. That seemed to fix the whole thing . . . my sync time was down to a minute or so, like it used to be. That only worked for 2 syncs . . . not my calendar sync is taking forever again . . . it's at 10 minutes now, and no sign of finishing.

Does ANYONE know how to fix this permanently??

I have the same issue. I have not tried the solution you have because I had not seen that anything really helps.

I just can't get over what a joke iCal is ... it's like they make it suck on purpose to appease MS. It's really the only issue I have with the phone ... first I can never get iCal to subscribe to my Google Calendar, and then the sync takes at least 10 minutes for me.

I'll just stand by until Apple tosses out the crap that is iCal and gives us a real solution. Don't even get me started on syncing todos and notes to the iPhone. Grrrrrr.

I am having the same problem. Though I installed recently the kate software. but I uninstalled it and before that had unticked all the option. Still not working.

    Any Geniuses around?

I'm thinking there is a crash report hanging up your sync. Go to the following folder on your Mac :

If there is a folder in there for mobile devices, delete that folder. That might clear up your sync issues.

SAME PROBLEM... I could probably post that in most of these worthless (ie ignored, unanswered, etc) threads.

Of course Apps crash, despite trying to trouble shoot them and workaround. (Workarounds are a PC thing, right?? Oops, time for a new marketing campaing). Seems to correlate with Sync errors -- a suspicion that's difficult to confirm when nearly every Sync kicks back a -4 or whatever.

Syncing contacts and/or calendars takes ludicrously long...well over an hour. I won't even both using those features until an update is available. My "smart phone" is effectively a *******.

And of course there's also the chronic "No Service" where my Razr has had full bars for years. Too often I can't even call this a phone, much less an all-in-one tool.

Every time some fascinated person asks me about this thing, I feel like a Debbie Downer with my laundry list of complaints.

If I just knew when to expect an update, I think I could deal...

As someone else on these boards lamented "I'm tired of being a beta tester who's paying for the 'privilege.'" Amen.
