I just received my 1T Time Capsule and I'd like to create a disk image on Time Capsule for storing all my bulky media files (since my backups will never eat up this drive and, ultimately, I don't care much about backing up my video files). In iTunes, for example, I can consolidate all of my music library and keep it on any disk. I'm just wondering whether there is a comparable way of moving all of my event clips and projects to my Time Capsule such that it becomes the default location for iMovie file?

I am looking for the same thing - a way to use an airdisk (via time capsule) to store my entire event library.

All I get so far is the airdisk with a caution symbol on it, but no explanation and no activity.

I'm the person who made that video, and trust me, I looked for an easier way than that. It's not hacky at all really. All you're doing is creating a symbolic link.

This looks simple enough but I am completely new to the "Apple" world. I have no idea how to even get to that black screen...lol do you have a printed step by step?

    Thanks!!!!

What I want to know is, if I use your method for redirecting where iMovie saves the event and project files what happens if I try to import videos from my camera to my Mac when I'm away from the Time Capsule for example if i'm out in the field getting footage and I want to save vids to the laptop to save space? Will this modification not allow imports unless connected to the network drive?
