I have created 3 ringtones in iTunes. One is called "Sway" one is "Something Crazy" and one is "New Day." If I go to Ringtones tab and hit sync, they do not go on my phone. If I drag them to my iPhone the show up but....say I drag Something Crazy, then New Day, then Sway.....when I look at my Custom tones all I get is Sway three times. What's Up?

Do you have your preferences set to sync ringtones automatically??? That's where I'd start.

In the ringtones tab in iTunes (that only shows up when the phone is plugged in), are you able to preview them? If so, does each play one of the three songs or do they all play "Sway" as the name implies? If they each play a different one of the three songs, I'd just rename them in the tab and be done with it. They should sync to your phone with whatever name is in that tab. Hope this helps.

Have you tried reinstalling your iTunes? I'd say it's definitely something to do with iTunes. Try that if you haven't already. It won't hurt any of your data; it will just install right overtop of what you've already got and hopefully will fix any underlying problems.

I am having the exact same problem. I created three ringtones and synced. Nothing went to the phone. Then I tried copying the three files in iTunes. If I look at the files in iTunes, I see my three different ringtones in the iPhone tree. However, when they sync to the phone, I get three of the same ringtones (whichever one I put up last - name and tune).

I've had iTunes for a while but just got this phone yesterday so it seems strange that itunes would be the problem. Any ideas?

Sometimes files just get corrupted in iTunes and a reinstall is needed. It happens. You could have installed it just yesterday or a year ago and still have the same problem. Of course I don't know for certain that will fix your problem, but it's the next logical step. It certainly won't hurt anything.

Do you have manually manage music checked on the summary page in iTunes? If so, that is the problem. You must remove that checkmark and sync the ringtones. Did you make the ringtones yourself? If so, they need to be less than 40 seconds in length. Thirty seconds is the optimum, however I've seen where it will take one a little longer. I have one that is 39 seconds. It will go into iTunes, however it won't sync to the phone because of the length. Make sure you check those two things. If you were manually managing your music, you may want to move it all into a single playlist, maybe call it iPhone, because when you go to sync, you could loose the music if you don't.

    Hope this answers your question.
