Mac OS X 10.4: About startup items security
Currently Being ModeratedOct 19, 2005 9:06 AM (in response to C Ogle)I found your pointer to the Apple document very helpful, but even that document does not explain why I get the same startup security alert for the same application each time I log in, despite selecting "Fix" and restarting. Is there a way to Fix the item's security setting permanently, so I don't get the message? The Apple document explains a procedure using Terminal. Is that what I need to do?
Currently Being ModeratedOct 19, 2005 6:32 PM (in response to Don H.)I traced this problem to Retrospect V5.1. If Retrospect runs after a reboot, I'll get the alerts on the next reboot; if not, not.
Presumably, a later ver$ion of Retrospect would fix these alerts. However, now that I know what is causing them, coupled with the fact that I so very rarely reboot, I have decided to put up with the situation for the nonce.
