Same problem on my end. Using a Windows XP PC + iTunes. This bug is annoying as I end up having to re-download the missing podcasts (assuming they are still available on the iTunes store). This takes time to do as my connection is not broadband speeds. Very frustrating to say the least.Dell Dimension 8250, Windows XP
any known solutions?
I have the exact problem, but mainly with newly downloaded podcasts, and it is becoming very annoying and time consuming finding and redownloading the podcasts manually from their homepages.
if this is not fixed soon I will change to another podcatcher programWindows Vista
In my case, old episodes are happily still on my disk. But all NEW, not-yet-downloaded episodes are showing up with the ! in front of them saying the file cannot be found. This is happening in EVERY SINGLE podcast I subscribe to. Something is clearly rotten in the state of iTunes for some people. I can't get any episodes and this is frustrating.
I don't want to go through moving all of my feeds over to NetNewsWire but I may have to until this gets resolved.

I solved my particular strain of this problem. Somehow (and I have no idea how seeing as I never go into iTunes preferences) iTunes lost the location of its folder. When I looked at the appropriate preference pane, the box where it lists its folder location was blank. Once I restored that, everything worked again.
Now, how on earth iTunes can just "forget" that info is a mystery. But at least it solved the problem.

check your read/write permissions for your podcast directory by doing a Get Info on the podcast directory.

I am having similar problems with Podcasts missing and/or not downloading some podcasts. I've tried everything except for this issues of read/write permissions. Could anyone help me with the procedure to check this on a Windows Vista machine? How is it done?Dell Desktop, iPod Classic 160 GB
