I have a new macbook pro 2.4 ghz, leopard 10.5.2 and logic 8. The novation nio crashes logic (spinning beachball). I have checked the website for drivers....Is there anyone with the same system running logic 8 sucessfully and if so with which audio interface? It would be useful to have a list of what actually works!

i've got an edirol fa-101 and it work fine. imo i think almost any interface should be fine. if im not mistaken certain digidesign ones haven't made theirs compatible yet to leopard but i could be wrong here.

Most interfaces should work with Leopard. There are a lot of threads here about interfaces, so if you do a search for 'audio interface,' you'll find some info, and you'll be able to find people talking about the ones that don't work well.

I have a MOTU Ultralite, and the Leopard drivers seem to be working fine. I also have an M-Audio 410, and I haven't tried it with Leopard yet, but the Leopard drivers are still in BETA, so M-Audio is probably not your best bet. Lots of people, myself included, think their drivers, even full releases, are a bit sketchy anyway.

There are a lot of people here who really like the Apogee Duet, and I haven't seen anyone complaining about its compatibility with Leopard.

    Hope this helps!

I run Logic 8 with Duende Mini and Motu 8pre and it is a sweet ride - no bugs
Jut make sure you don't go with m-audio or digidesign, they are best used with ProTool

That's not a good sign. They should definitely be exactly the same. Try plugging something else into the port to see if it works. If it's still under warranty, you should have someone look at it.

first gen macbooks had USB issues too. The last usb port, I believe, didnt had enough power and gave lousy performance

RME's FireFace800 works fine (except in 96kHz mode with low buffer settings) on my Mac Pro, but apparently there's a problem with certain MacBook Pro's and a FireWire chipset that some of them use (if you connect it to the FW400 port - using the FW800 slot should be OK).

If you start your Mac in a certain mode (with Cmd+S ?) it will show which chipset the Mac has, and if it says "TI", you should be fine with FF800. If not, try a FW800 cable if you use a FW400 cable. From what I've heard, this affects other external FW devices as well.

    HI Ryan,

I also own a Presonus Firebox & I 've read about Firewire Kernel pbs with many firewire audio devices. I agree this was with Mac pro rathen MBP but I'm still surprised.
Never experienced any trouble with L8 + Jaguar 10.5.2 and the Firebox?
