Currently Being ModeratedApr 30, 2008 6:32 PM (in response to undefined117)I solved my problem (thank goodness) by holding down the power button on my Macbook for 15 seconds. About 10-12 seconds in, it made a loud chiming noise. Then it restarted - no folder with a question mark. It's been fine ever since. and it said:
Verifying volume "MAC"
Error: The Underlying Task reported failure on exit
1 non HFS volume checked
volume needs repair.
I tried it again and the computer did not recognize the hard drive at all.
I got a Mac so I wouldn't have to deal with all of this, I am luckily still under warranty but nearest Apple Store is 100 miles North through speedtraps or 120 Miles South in Orlando.
