Hi and welcome to the apple discussions.

How do you monitor your Input(s)?

i am monitoring them right back thru the mobile pre.i used the same method for garage band as well as audacity, and had no echo with either one.ive tryed different mic locations, added sound dampining foam, and different limiters and compressors.Should i get a mixer, hook the mic to the mobile pre and the mobile pre to the mixer, mixer to the computer.hook me up.thanx

To record you presumable click the "R" button on the track and then the record button to start. Right? At the time you click the "R" (or "I") button logic monitors the selected channel and if you have your Speakers in the same room as the mic it will result in an feedback. Solution is to use an headphones or to mute sound.

I am using the r button on the track for record.I have a closet in my room that has been turned into a booth.speakers are out side the booth in the room.I always monitor using headphones while recording vocals and always turn my speakers off during this process.I am aware of the feedback issue with using the mic and speakers in the same area.i have also tryed to mute sound. If i am in the booth with headpones on and speak into the mic it sounds like i am 100 ft away from the mic.ive also tryed putting the mic in a completly different room 40 feet from the monitoring area.guitar center recommended that i buy another preface but i dont see this being the problem.i want to try to fix it the best i can without purchasing more equiptment.thanx again for all the assistance.it is much appreciated

+If i am in the booth with headpones on and speak into the mic it sounds like i am 100 ft away from the mic.+

And this only happens with Logic? Then the problem is Logic! and no additional Equipment can fix this.
Unfortunately i dont know what causes Logic to this strange behaviour. Sorry.
Maybe there is an reverb plugin or effekt in the signal path. Did you checked this? Maybe the problem is gone if you make an new project with only one track.

I'm presuming you turned software monitoring "off" in Logic audio preference to monitor directly and only through your interface the record signal. To monitor via Logic you need a low disk buffer setting (also in preferences).
