I use my mac at work, and connect to external, shared drives via Ethernet.
BUT--Time Machine seems to insist that I must connect via Airport!
As soon as I turn on Time Machine, it launches the Airport Utility.
There doesn't seem to be any way to stop this.

Is there simply no option other than an external, firewire/usb drive?

Very frustrating.
