I attended an Apple Seminar on Aperture a few months ago. At the end of the seminar, we were all given a copy of Aperture 2.0. It's a legitimate copy with Serial numbers; however, it is ineligible for upgrades. After a successful install, I tried to open Aperture but received the following message: "Aperture cannot access this library. To use this library make sure its file permissions are set correctly" How can I set my file permissions? Can anybody help me get my Aperture up and running?

Thanks!

Launch Aperture with the command and option keys held down. In the dialog that comes up, try the "consistency check" option.

    How big is your library?

It took about 3 minutes for me, with my 150 GB library. But I have an 8 core machine with very fast disks and 8 GB of RAM.

If it's still running (and saying VACUUM DATABASE or something), let it go.

If this is a new installation then I'm presuming you have no images loaded yet. If so then delete the library and let Aperture create a new empty one.
