I bought NetShare, followed the instructions to a T, tried a bunch of times, and it's just not working. I'm on a 3G connection, i loaded up Safari right before using it so that it was an active connection, with no luck. I load up the app and my computer says i'm connected, but the connections stays at 0 all the time. Anyone know what I have to do to get it to work?

Thanks!

Does NetShare include a link for technical support?

Like you, I've tried everything I can find, and checked my settings until I've gone nearly blind.

Nothing helps, it doesn't appear that the phone even knows my mac is trying. (number of connections: 0)

NullRiver offers no support on their site - pretty infuriating.
Google help searches only return blog entries about how the app is up and down.
Support is scarce here. Would be great if someone would step up.

I wish Apple would resolve their issue with this app as I really want to buy it from the App Store since here in Canada tethering is allowed on the iPhone 3G. Anyway, here is a link to a step by step guide which you should find helpful. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/08/01/tenstep_guide_to_sharing_your_iphones_connection_withnetshare.html There's also a few on YouTube.

Can you ping the iphone from your Mac? I can. If so, then the ad hoc network is working. My problem is, like you, I get 0 connections, no mater whose tutorialI follow. I have sent 3 emails to Nullriver to no avail. I don't know if this is because they are flaky, not at home, or under pressure not to respond. I have their tuner app, also, but haven't tried to email them about that (cause it works)

Was having the same problem, then found this:

"After fiddling with it for a few minutes I found a solution. The iphone appeard to be still trying to using the WiFi connection and not 3G.

So, right before the final step of launching NetShare on the iphone (i.e. after setting up the adHoc network on the iphone to your PC), launch Safari on the iPhone and surf to a page. This will cause the little WiFi icon to change to 3G at the top of your phone. Now lanuch NetShare that you have the 3G icon back and everything will work like a dream."
