Only way I have seen of getting round the issue is to delete the app from th phone, restart the phone, check to make sure the app has gone, if not delete again and reboot. Once removed re-sync and ensure that you make sure that app is ticked under Applications for the iPhone. You should find it now installs, but you will loose any saved data for the app. I have found no other way round.
I have even removed all app completely from both iPhone and iTunes, reloaded from the store, and the 1st time an update was available it still failed.
Hope this helps and that Apple will solve the very many issues with this very disappointing product soon. Apple attempted to bring out too many products at the same time and are I believe suffering as a result. The iPhone has the potential of being a very good product, but way too many serious issues at the moment.Apple Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.5.4), Windows Vista SP1 and Outlook 2007 SP1
