I had that problem. Mine just stopped working one day, I never noticed it getting weaker. I have the extra 2-yr warranty plan through apple and took it to the apple store. They exchanged it, and the new one has worked fine since. Although I am getting reception problems now after the 2.0 update.
If its still under warranty then take it back.

If you feel that it has anything to do with the 2.0 software upgrade, you might be able to sway some Genius sympathy, but probably not.ThinkPad T60p, Windows Vista, Original 8GB iPhone 2.0.1

I'm not sure when it began, but noticed one day that I didn't here my iPhone vibrate on a surface as it was ringing. I am hoping it is a software issue that can be fixed because My warranty ended in mid July and I'm doubtful apple will replace it.
