I have an iPod Touch 8GB, 2.0.2 and I have set the passcode on. But I cannot turn it off, as there is no such option in the: General -> Passcode. I can only change the passcode or change the time after which the passcode is required. But based on the manual there should be the possibility to turn it off.
"+Turn passcode lock off+
+m Choose General > Passcode Lock and tap Turn Passcode Off, then enter your passcode.+"
Can anyone help please?

    I tried what you wrote and it worked. What you need is to go to setting-general-and do the rest as the manual said. After you enter your old pass code, it the pass code lock will be turned off.

    Okay, follow these steps... From your home screen:

    -> Settings
    -> General
    -> Passcode Lock (it should currently say "On")

    Once you press Passcode Lock, there should be an option at the top that says "Turn Passcode Off." Press that.

    Enter your passcode.

    As soon as you enter the code, the passcode screen should go away and you should be sent back to the "General" page of the Settings section.

    When you try to follow these directions, at which point can you go no further or does your experience diverge from what I've typed?

    Let us know how it goes

    Do you have Exchange mail set up? It seems that can force you to have a password, and removes the option to turn off the passcode.
