On the iPod, go to Settings > General > Reset. Try the +Reset All Settings.+

I'm in the same position but whenever it connects to the iTunes store, it asks for the password of the previous owner who I cannot contact. Will resetting the iPod delete all those sort of settings too?Macbook Pro 17"/iMac 17 flat panel/iBook G4/eMac G4, Mac OS X (10.4.2)
