Hi, all. I just read through some of the related posts to my problem which is:
I have 3 Macs connected via Ethernet, and usually have no problem connecting them to each other to share files. Now I have 10.5.4 installed in the MacBook Pro and the G5, I can get the MacBook Pro to see and connect to the G5, but the G5 absolutely will not connect to the laptop. It "sees" it, but goes to spinning beach ball every time I try to connect, forcing me to force quit the Finder.
<Sigh> Any idea what's causing this?
Thanks much.

MacBook Pro Core Duo 2 GHz, G5 Dual 2.3 GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

I am having a similar problem. I have a 17" MacBook Pro and I am trying to connect to my wife's 15" MacBook Pro (both v10.5.5). I can use her MacBook Pro to connect and "share screen" with my MacBook Pro but I cannot even connect the other way (I can see her MacBook Pro in the "SHARED" side column). Everytime I try to connect it gives "Connection Failed".

I have both "Screen Sharing" and "File Sharing" selected and also have "Allow access for: All users". Also, tried "Only these users" to no avail.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem. I try to connec to server, I enter my server address, click connect and I just get the spinning beach ball.

I have to forcequit the finder.
