Hi,

I can't view my YouTube Subscriptions on my Apple TV. Nor can I favorite any videos. Is anyone else having this problem. I can log into my YouTube account and view my list of Favorites. But if I try going to Subscriptions, it says:

"No content was found. There is a problem communicating with YouTube. Try again later."

Its not just you Reuben. I've been having this problem for quite sometime. I've search all over the internet looking for reasons but I can't seem to find anything.

Does anyone out there have any ideas why this would be happening?

I had the exact same problem within the past week. In my case, I took the more painstaking method of restoring Apple TV to "Factory Defaults" and then resyncing my iTunes library back to Apple TV. I know it seems like a long process, but sometimes, for reasons we'll never understand, there is either software or other types of content which are downloaded which somewhat affect the settings on Apple TV. In the YouTube case, the interesting thing was that otherwise all other functions on Apple TV worked fine, so I'm sure that it had nothing to do with my wireless network. In my case the re-boot solved the problem however. Sorry I don't have an easier fix, but this one I think does work, although perhaps a tad draconian.

What I find weird about it is that one day I'm able to view most of the videos in my subscriptions, but then the next day nothing at all. I've also noticed that not all my subscriptions are listed. I have around 15 subscriptions listed under my account when I visit YouTube with Safari, but through ATV it'll only show only 6 or 7 subscriptions.

I've even tried restarting the ATV without doing the factory restore and it seems to help for a few minutes but then it goes back to acting like described above. I even completely log out of YouTube from all my computers just incase that has something to do with it.

I haven't set up any subscriptions on YouTube per se, just instead tend to do a search each time. What was happening in my case was that YouTube content was not able to be viewed at all on ATV, which was a first for me. If it isn't a major pain, I would try the Apple Factory Restore option. In my case it took a couple of hours because I have a fair amount of video content. Good luck.

I've had exactly the same problem. Everything works but subscriptions and favoriting videos in Youtube. My Apple TV's network connection is fine, and it can download podcasts and use the iTunes store just fine. It can also usually watch YouTube videos, but it periodically loses all YouTube functionality. Frustrating that Apple hasn't released a fix for a clearly widespread problem.

Ok, great. Glad to know it's not just me. I can't be bothered to Restore my Apple TV, 'cos I don't believe I've done anything wrong at my end. I think I'll just wait until Apple fix it via a software update, whenever that may be.

not sure there is anything for apple to fix, as mine works fine.

One thing I have noticed is that you find a video clip on youtube on the macbook, and yet when you do a search, to find the same one, it doesn't find it. Are there limitation s on the ATV, or is it that the search uses different parametres? It doesn't happen all the time, just on a few.

So yours works fine and every body else (look the the length of the thread) should eat cake?

The state of your network, iTunes and the Apple TV itself need not be identical to yours.

Apple needs to provide another software update and put some resources into this product this is as a strategic product subject to a lot of neglect -at least so far.

Chiming in here! I have the same problem. I have a lot of Youtube subscriptions, but my ATV does not show them all, and this is especially annoying since I want access to specific subscriptions...

the YouTube app on ATV (even iPhone) needs a big upgrade in general!
