iPhone cannot be synced.

I upgraded to the latest iTunes8.0.1 (11). Since then, when I connect my iPhone 3G, I get the following error message:
"iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error has occurred (13014)."
I have tried restoring the phone, an as it is syncing, I continue to get the message after every 5-10 songs that update.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Intel iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

    Others who have had this problem fixed it by rebooting the computer.
