Currently Being ModeratedOct 28, 2008 12:22 AM (in response to elflip03)I just got my phone a few days ago, so I have never seen this work. That said, there were two messages waiting for me when I picked up the phone this morning and those messages must have been pushed. Two others that had arrived at my Yahoo inbox were not. From zero to 50% is an improvement, I guess.Powerbook 17" 1.67 Ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.3)
Currently Being ModeratedOct 28, 2008 3:54 PM (in response to elflip03)Yes.. A lot of people are having the same problem.. You on 2.1 right? If you are like the rest of us, we are waiting on Apple to issue a patch.. Which they have given no word as to when they will be doing so..
Comes down to a bug Apple introduced in 2.1 that kills, or makes fetching unreliable at best, while the phone is asleep and on battery..
Here is the continuation thread of the discussion.
The link to the original thread is in the first message in the above link.. Word of warning, the orginal thread is very long..
Hope this helps..Mac OS X (10.5.5)
Currently Being ModeratedOct 29, 2008 12:38 PM (in response to Matt Werline)yea this is really annoying having to do this all the time. I had it working for a couple of days but then it would go back to the same problem i created a new yahoo email account to see if it would go back to normal and it did, but what do you know the same problem popped up with that account also
Currently Being ModeratedOct 30, 2008 10:39 AM (in response to elflip03)I am having the same problem. Is it just limited to Yahoo? It stopped pushing yesterday. If I manually reload my email it push the data. Does anyone know when Apple is going to fix the bug?Dell
Currently Being ModeratedOct 30, 2008 11:07 AM (in response to ShannB)The Background fetching bug is not limited to any specific provider, but push is a different story. From what I have seen push is not effected by the bug Apple introduced in 2.1.. Have you tried a hard reset of your phone? To do that you hold down the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time for about 30 seconds. The phone will power down, start back up, and power down again.. You can then turn on the phone again after that.. See if that makes any difference..Mac OS X (10.5.5)
