Currently Being ModeratedNov 4, 2008 10:10 PM (in response to neuroanatomist)Hello,
I have a new iPhone and I too am having a 'format/display' problem with phone numbers that I type into the keypad. I have double-checked the Settings/General/International/Region and it is set for Australia (where I am).
However, when I type in a number eg 98765432 it displays on the phone as 9 8765 432 - which is really offputting - it appears to be reading the initial digit as an area code, when I have not supplied one. Do I have to type in the area code every time? When I put in an area code, it recognises it and puts it into brackets at the start of the number.
Also, I just checked with a friend who also has an iPhone, and when he types in the same number (ie, without the area code), his iPhone displays it as 9876 5432.
Where else do I need to check?
Thanks for any helpPowerBook G4, iPhone G3, iMac, Airport Extreme, Airport Express, Mac OS X (10.5.5), iPhone is brand new and software up-to-date
