Hi, how long does it take to create an array on a 3.5TB Xserve RAID? It seems to be taking forever. Can you format this array while it;s building it? I'm guessing not. Also, is there any faster way to create the arrays?

Cheers for the help.
Dave.

This will take 3 days. If you ticked the background-checkbox, you can start using it right away. (i.e. formatting, mounting, using)

Do not trust on the data on it though, since the initiating eventually might fail.

The 10.5TB array takes about 3 days. A 3.5TB array should take about 24 hours.

That said, if the background initialization box was checked you can use the array straight away (just a little slower).
