What's the problem using Text Edit with Flash website templates?

I am using a flash based template, but apostrophe's are changing to Õ once viewed in a browser, as do quotation marks. How can I stop this from happening. Is there a work-around, or do I need to use a different text editor?

That did not seem to do it. I dragged those fonts to the trash, and emptied the trash. I rebooted, opened up the file, checked to make sure those fonts were not available in the program, then changed to font to arial, just for insurance sake. Reimported it into the template, but the messed up character still shows up. Have I done something wrong? Any other suggestions?

Problems with apostrophes and quotation marks like you describe are normally caused by an encoding mismatch when a text contains smart/curly quotes. The easiest thing to do is usually to replace these characters by the normal "straight" versions made from the keyboard. Make sure whatever text editor you are using does not have an option for "smart/curly" quotes activated in its preferences.

Thanks for your input. I don't think I quite follow what you are saying. I am simply typing in the apostrophe or quote marks in the keyboard. I have checked the preferences for TextEdit and do not see anything about a smart/curly option. I'm on OS 10.4.11, on a G5 Dual 2.5 if that makes any difference. Any other thoughts are appreciated.
