Currently Being ModeratedMar 16, 2009 6:39 PM (in response to Austin Kinsella1)I've dragged the address book card to the desktop, and opened it in TextEdit. The birthday entry is wrong in the text file (even though displaying correctly in the Address Book application).
What I get for an address book card where the birthday should be 1978-03-14 is:
So, how do I correct this? And, why is this happening?
Thanks for the help!MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2007 Model
Currently Being ModeratedMar 17, 2009 4:29 AM (in response to Austin Kinsella1)After viewing the text in the address book card per Austin's post, I have found that if I manually edit the BDAY entry, and drag the file from my desktop back into Address Book and select 'import', my manual correction of the date holds, and iCal gets updated showing the correct birthday. Although cumbersome with many address book cards, this seems to correct the issue.
Although manually corrected, it would be great to know where this error is coming from and how to avoid it in future, so I'l leave this topic 'unanswered' for now.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2007 Model

I'm having the same problem. Lots of birthdays added to the AB; all are reflected in iCal, and sync'd to my iPhone. One will not.
I've done what you said above: dragged the AB card to the desktop; read it in Text Edit; the birthday format is as you say it should be: BDAY;value=date:1930-07-31. I then imported it (as a vcf card) back to the AB. It still appears only once in the AB and once in iCal, but it still does not appear on my iPhone. I've quit all apps and then reopened and repeated the process but still it doesn't sync to my iPhone when I select sync all calendars. I also manually edited the card and saved it, then sync'd but nothing. Any other suggestions?iMac, 24"; 2.66 GHz; Intel Core 2 Duo (early 2009), Mac OS X (10.5.6), iBook G4; 10.5.6; AEBS; iPhone G3

+Topic : Some birthdays (like 1920s) don't sync to iPhone?+
Has to do with dates before 1/1/1933. I'd still like to know why that happens...iMac 20", Mac OS X (10.5.6)
Currently Being ModeratedApr 19, 2009 10:01 PM (in response to RareWaves)I just changed his to 1931-32-33-34-35-36 and it still didn't sync to my phone even though I have others in there with the same year . 1936 .... that did. This is really strange. Think I'll keep on it and will post back if I find anything else. Thanks for the idea that it's in the particular year.iMac, 24"; 2.66 GHz; Intel Core 2 Duo (early 2009), Mac OS X (10.5.6), iBook G4; 10.5.6; AEBS; iPhone G3

If I set a date for a test address birthday to 03/07/1921 it shows in iCal (Leopard 10.5.7) but will not sync to the iPhone (3G/3.0). If I change this to say 02/07/2000 (so it will register as a change) it will sync fine?? No Mobile Me is involved, just a direct sync in iTunes
I've tried disabling the Birthday sync, clearing the iCal cache files, syncing to the iPhone, re-enabling the Birthdays and re-syncing. No Change.
After some testing I discovered that anyone who was born in 1932 or before will never sync to your iPhone using this method, at least in 2009
So if you are younger, you will never remember your Grandparents or maybe even your parents birthdays! If you are older, you'll never remember any of your friends birthdays either!
Pants I think and needs to be fixed ASAP.iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.7), iPhone (3G/3.0)
