Apple-advised PRAM reset messed up my MB Pro?

Okay, guys - thought I'm gonna post it, as it's quite an interesting issue.
I had some problems with my Wi-Fi Internet connection, basically the connection has been intermittent, even though the AirPort indicator has displayed full network coverage all the time. I have called Apple Support and asked them for help, went through Troubleshooting that has PRAM resetting as one of the parts of it.
Oddly enough, after doing this, my Internet connection started being solid, but I have noticed occasional screen flickering - i.e. screen going black for a split second (literally) and then coming back again. Not sure, if anyone else has experienced it, as I couldn't have googled anything up on it, but what has puzzled me is that I had absolutely no problems of that nature whatsoever up to the point of PRAM resetting, and the day I have done it I started experiencing this odd behavior of my Mac.
And, no - I have not been installing any updates, nor have I been installing any apps in the meantime. It's Mac OS X 10.5.7, MB Pro early 2009. Most likely PRAM reset messed things up, luckily I have requested a replacement so it shouldn't matter that much, just wanted to touch that issue and warn everyone before they do some PRAM-fiddling with their own equipment.
In any case, if someone has got anything to say on that (or any tips on what to do) - it would be greatly appreciated, as it's gonna take some time until the replacement arrives and the flickering is a bit frustrating (to say the least), as you probably can imagine.

Best,

D.

PRAM resetting should not mess things up on any Mac less than 2 years old. Older, there is an increasing risk the clock battery may age, and create serious issues after a PRAM reset, and that gets even worse after 4 years. However, you may be sensitive to progressive versus interlaced display settings. PRAM resetting often results in the factory default display resolution being setup in your Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays on any Mac. You may just need to change your resolution.

Thanks for the reply. So what exactly should I do?
I opened Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Displays and clicked on the resolution I used and use (1920 x 1200), then changed it for 1680 x 1050 and came back to 1920 x 1200 again. Waiting to see what happens now - it kinda, gives a flicker every 45-60 minutes or so, so we'll see. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Wow, that came quick - just had the flicker again. No idea whatsoever what's happening, as I've said - I have been using the MacBook for 12h+ a day for a week since I've received it, and nothing like this has been happening. It all started the day I did the PRAM reset, as advised 😟

Run the hardware test that came with the Mac.

Thanks. I did the test, says "No problems found". What I am gonna do is leave it overnight for the low-level/deep testing to finish, I started with this one, but after an hour it hasn't moved forward almost a slightest bit, so I stopped it and did the quick test. Will see what the thorough test comes up with and will post the results.
Thanks for the help.

Short update will come tomorrow - left it on the hardware test with full battery, but - unfortunately - forgot to connect it to the external power source. I woke up with my MB being dead, and after booting it has loaded the OS as usually, so I need to go through everything all over again. Will do this overnight and let you know. Once again - many thanks for help.
