Q: Universal Dock remote capabilities

Are you able to use the remote that comes with the Universal Dock to also control the computer it's hooked up to? I mainly want to control simple functions of DVD Player with it.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. The remote that comes with the Universal dock is the same remote that comes with (or at least used to) with Macbooks and can be used to control some functions of the computer. I don't know if your computer is one that it can control. You'd need to check the specs.

I might also add, you'd probably be better off posting this question in a more relevant forum as this has nothing to do with the Radio Remote.

Then it probably does use the remote. You'd need to go in to Preferences>Security and enable Infrared.
