Synch Problems

For some reason, my iPod no longer synchs with iTunes. It is recognized in "My Computer" but not in iTunes. I manually had to erase most of the content off the iPod through "My Computer." Did I accidently delete something I shouldn't have? It was mostly music in data form. The iPod sycnched before.

I tried changing the letter of the iPod. That didn't help. I also tried enabling the device and updating the usb drives. No help either.

The Apple lady said I could "restore the iPod." She seemed to think it was something with my computer. She said if that didn't work, I should uninstall iTunes. I really don't want to do this if it's not neccessary.

    Hey. I have the same problem. There are a lot of other people with the same problem with the 5th gens as well. I recommend going into iTunes > Help > send feedback and tell apple exactly what's going on. Hopefully if enough people write in they'll expedite a solution.

    Other then that, I've tried everything i can think of and nothing works. My iPod acts exactly the same way on my laptop and my desktop.

    Did you try to delete the driver and then scan for hardware changes?

    I uninstalled the usb drivers, but after a reboot it reinstalled them. I'm not sure if that's the correct way to do it?

    can you tell me what to do? i seem to have the same issue. i connect the ipod to the computer and it shows up fine, but as soon as i start itunes it ejects. i can't sync, add files or delete anything... is there a way to reset the ipod and delete everything on there and start over? if this is how you fix it then i am all for it.
