What error does occur when you try to reset the iPhone to factory defaults via iTunes?
Does iTunes recognize your iPhone when plugged to your computer?
If there's an AT&T or Apple Store near you, you might get faster and better help by bringing your device there.iMac C2D 20", 2.4 GHz, 2 GB, Mac OS X (10.5.7), MacBook Pro 13" / iMac G5 20" / original iPhone 8GB
Currently Being ModeratedJun 22, 2009 2:48 PM (in response to m.bode)I have the same problem. I received error 1604.
I worked through the recommendations on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 through removing and reinstalling iTunes.
Now iTunes only recognizes my phone if I power cycle my phone and reboot my computer.
I continue to get the same error even if I try to restore backups prior to 3.0.iphone
