Q: Download error. Tap to retry

After trying to rent a movie on iTunes directly from my iphone 3G (with 3.0) the movie appears in the downloads area but says 'Download Error. Tap to retry.' The movie will not download even if I'm connected to WiFi. How can I either get the movie to download or cancel the purchase? Have I been charged? At this point I'd like to just make it go away. Please help.

I have the exact same problem. No response from Apple as to a fix for it. Even if they do figure it out eventually, I'm not likely to want it any more. It was supposed to be for a flight, but since it won't download it'll be worthless.

Ok. At least I am not alone. I just paid $110 for an 'error 8003'! I was supposed to get a GPS navigation program called Sygic, but I suppose this is just as good

    mpetrisk,
We are trying to get the exact same software!

I have been googling for two hours now, trying to figure out what error 8003 is. Apparently Apple doesn't know!, even though it's been around for years. When asked for support, they say the fault is on your side and they don't provide technical support.

Generally it seems as if the 8003 error is the end of the line. Apple is unable to deliver what you have purchased and all you can do is ask Apple or your bank for a refund. Great...

Oh, and I got the message that my iPhone was low on storage space too. The reason is that when you download on your phone, the installer is kept even after the program is installed, thus making it take up twice as much space. Only when you sync with iTunes will the installer be removed. I cleaned out some audiobooks to gain space, but of course I can't download on my iPhone either. It fails and asks me to download through iTunes instead...

I have tried on two different pc's, one XP and one Vista. Two different networks. No difference. Looks to me like they got a bad/dead link. Wonder when they'll come around to check our support requests?

Just now I tried downloading another app. That one downloaded with no problems whatsoever, so obviously it's not a settings issue on our computers. It's an App Store problem.

Another 8003 download error here! Tried downloading on two Macs and one Windows PC, with and without the firewall active on the router - no go!

    Not happy!

I have the same problem, Sygic Europe and 8003. How can I cancel my purchase? It's enough to call my bank? This is a shame of Apple
