It should be able to use BT to transfer files and to send notes with other type of devices, I have an iPod touch and before the new update everything was just the same as it is now. If apple decided to hide BT on iPods just to sell us out the option to use it later (the thing was not cheap), and now I have bluetooth for no reason because a 5% of friends and family own an iPod or iPhone, if I wanted to use it on the car, well I don't have a car with bluetooth stereo, nor have BT earphones. Can't even use it to sync SOMETHING with the Mac?

You can sync with your Mac and transfer files. You have to lay down $99.00/year on a MobileMe account.
