Q: can't change transition duration

Hello,
I had always use FCP, now i'm using FC express. I read the manual and the changing of the duration of transitions works the same in both programs.
However, in mine, FC express 4.0.1 it doesn't allow to change it at all, not by dragging the ends of the transition, nor by using the timecode.
Could someone help me?

    If you are trying to change the Default transition in FCE, you can't. FCPro you can.

    If you are having trouble adding any transition or trying to make an existing one longer; it's most likely a _Media Handle_ issue.
