Check that your camera or deck is connected properly and set to VCR mode, if it seems ok click view/ refresh AV devices and your cam/deck should initialize. If it doesn't you probably have a communication problem. are you using a camera?

Currently Being ModeratedAug 4, 2009 1:01 PM (in response to Michael Grenadier)The tape is in a tape deck, which shows that the VTR is ok. I can rewind, fast forward, etc with the controls in FCP. In checking the forum, there was something about Quicktime being a problem. I do the Apple software updates and have QT 7.6.2 which says that it was modified 6/1/09. The captures I did before were in July , so it must have been the same. I am in Leopard 10.5.7Intel iMac 24", MacBook, iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.5.7)
