I captured from some tapes about a month ago. I found that the audio was out of sync. In the past, this has sometimes been rectified by recapturing from the tape. However, now, all I get is "Preview disabled" in the capture window. Has anything changed in that month (upgrades etc.) that would cause this. Everything is in NTSC and I am using FCP 6.0.6

Check that your camera or deck is connected properly and set to VCR mode, if it seems ok click view/ refresh AV devices and your cam/deck should initialize. If it doesn't you probably have a communication problem. are you using a camera?

Uh, yes, upgrades can cause problems. Have you done any software updates? Not a good idea unless you've got a clone of your startup drive.
