- I got my first home computer in 1981 (a Commodore VIC-20), then moved to a Radio Shack Color Computer a year or so later. From 1990-1995 I operated Sub-Etha Software, a home-run business selling "CoCo" and OS-9 operating system products. I became a Mac user in August 1998 with the orignial Bondi Blue iMac. In 2001, I bought the first Titanium Powerbook and converted to Mac full time, and have never looked back. During the 90s, I worked for Microware Systems Corp (creator of the OS-9 operating system) and was there during the lawsuit they filed against Apple over the use of the name "OS-9". My second iMac (the first DV "special edition" model with FireWire) was used in the court case to demonstrate FireWire control of a camcorder. I got to speak to Phil Schiller briefly (only knowing him by voice as one of the guys who spoke at an Apple keynote presentation I watched online). And what a long, strange trip it's been since...
