BioI am interested in mathematics and science, the primary elements of technology. I also like to ponder philosophy. If you met me under normal circumstances, you would probably find me (to be general) a fair, nice guy. (Note: I do not finish last.) If you have an adequate attention span, see my user tags for a more in-depth description.

Did you know that the word "ponder" derives from Latin "pendere", which means "to hang"? Also, oughtn't "technology" to define a study (to have the definition "study of self-useful man-made items"), as it ends in "logy" as do, i.e., biology, psychology, and anadictology**?

Boy, was that a long tangent. I wonder what the rate of expansion a tangent line segment would be if its size were to be kept proportional to that of its respective circle expanding at a rate of "(x^y)(y^x)=1" where "x" is time on a linear scale and "y" is added area on a natural scale.

longnow.org - The Long Now Foundation, established in 1996, is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in San Francisco that seeks to become the seed of a very long-term cultural institution. It aims to provide a counterpoint to what it views as today's "faster/cheaper" mindset and to promote "slower/better" thinking. The Long Now Foundation hopes to "creatively foster responsibility" in the framework of the next 10,000 years, and so uses 5-digit dates to address the Year 10,000 problem (e.g. by writing 02013 rather than 2013).
