I am a mining engineer, born and raised in Perth, Australia, but I have lived and worked in many countries around the world. My passion for computers started in 1972, and I got my hands on a terminal in '73, even though the mainframe it was connected to was 400 miles away. I have been heavily involved with computers and various operating systems since then. I have also worked with homeless street kids for a couple if years, and spent a couple of years voluntary work on a mission hospital in the north of Burkina Faso, West Africa. And a couple of months in Ethiopia in a refugee camp. There is more to life than underground mining and messing around with computers.
