- remove total av from my imacHey folks...I did something dumb. I let a fake review site convince me to download and install Total AV. Turns out it's more a virus than anti-virus. Tried to delete it, but a pop-up window tells me it can't be trashed because it's running. Went to bunch of sites to find out how to get rid of it, but they were almost all dummy sites from Total AV. - Scam protectionI have a MacBook Pro. More than a year ago, advisor from Apple Support suggested that I install McAffe antivirus protector. I did and have never had a problem until today, when a facebook post turned out to be a scam. I was told to run my anti virus software, and when I did it detected so-called 5 viruses and recommended I delete McAffe and install Total AV.
