So I've had quick time for sometime now, latey it has been craching IE7 whenever I access a webpage that has Quicktime i get an error message that say : there was a plugin error on this page and that plug in did not initialize properly. After I get that pop up I'm forced to close IE . It's becoming annoying to the point where I want to uninstall it.
I am having the same problem and it happens with all 3 of my browsers. I've tried watching them with IE7 Firefox and Safari but all with the same result with the browser crashing. I've tried reinstalling Quicktime but that didn't help. If anybody knows how to fix please let me know.
I have exactly the same problem. I get the message: Plugin Error. An error occurred inside a plugin contained on this page. I error is with quicktime.qts; specifically "faulting module quicktime.qts, version 7.1.6.200, fault address 0x00069bd7." Help please!!!!!
I am having the same exact issue. This is ridiculously frustrating.
When trying to access QuickTime content in both IE7 and Safari (ie. the new iPhone video), both browsers crash. IE7 first displays an error message similar to the ones posted above in this thread, while Safari simply crashes.
Hopefully Apple is working on a fix for all of us being affected by this issue.
After an upgrade to Quicktime 7.1.6 I had the same problem. I found my latest Nvidia graphics driver was incompatible. I found an older driver and the problem cleared up.
I have also been reading about this issue on the nVidia forums. I think Apple says it's nVidia's problem, and nVidia says it's Apple's problem. In any event, would you mind saying what driver you rolled back to, and where you were able to find it. Thanks!
Customer service here *****. Quick time and N-Vidia are giving you the run around, let you wallet do the walking and trash Quicktime. Personally I'm sick of it.
I tried using "safe mode" but it doesn't help at the website where I have the problem (atcmonitor.com). I wonder if there's a way to roll back Quicktime while keeping the latest version of iTunes? If so, where would we find a previous stand-alone version of QT?
Sorry it didn't work out for you guys. Has anyone tried temporarely disabling DirectX (type dxdiag in the run command line window and it's under the display tab)?
I am having the same problem as all of you. I just upgraded to Quicktime 7.1.6 yesterday and nothing will play or IE crashes. *****!
I have tried changing all of my settings to the basics with no resolve.
I hope we can figure this crap out.
I am having the same issues, Nvidia 8800GTS, running the newest Nvidia drivers. With the newest quicktime patch I get a plugin failure in IE and Firefox. Sometimes firefox completely crashes, and sometimes the movie shows up as green and pink lines and then crashes.
