Wierd Noise?

When cds enter and exit my macbook it kinda makes a funny noise. Is this normal? im a new mac owner

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

This is the mechanism that draws and ejects the CD/DVD so it is normal.

Even the clicking Noise is normal? I know the first noise is expected, but once it is in all the way it makes a pretty loud clicking noise two or three times. Thanks for the help.... First time MacBook owner here

Mine's been making that noise, including the clicking, for nearly a year, and the optical drive works fine, so no worries.
