Change Short Name?

Change Short Name?

Dear All,

How do I change the current Short Name (e.g. Richard) in my iMac under Admin account? I have tried to create another account (e.g. Rich) and hopefully I can delete the previous Short Name (Richard) but failed.

Any idea how to do it?

Download the utility called ChangeShortName - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, indeed it seems like a very complicated process.

Your solution seems to be a bit easier by using a software. I shall consider both ways before doing anything.
