Price For 4GB Of Apple Ram?

Apple does not make RAM, they use a few brands of RAM, just like you can buy online (Hynus and Samsung for example). Their prices are not worth it more often than not... in fact not at all. Get stock and upgrade yourself, you'll save hundreds of dollars if you are upgrading to 4GBs.

If you are comfortable with the fairly easy installation then you should be fine with 3rd party ram. I have never had any issues.

I am sure more people will weigh-in with their opinions..

Have you noticed a significant speed increase after upgrading to 4GB?

see when you upgrade to the 4gb of ram does apple still cover you if there is a problem as u have messed about with the system

I just got my mbp and put the 4GB in immediately so I really can't answer that question.

Memory is the only item on a macbook pro that is user upgradable. It does not affect the warranty at all, unless the memory is bad. Apple will not warranty 3rd party memory.
