Safari wont load any web pages

Safari wont load any web pages

I've been using both Safari (2.x) and Firefox in my MBP for a coupel of months w/o problems. Now all the sudden Safari will not load any web pages. FX still works ok. Has anyone had a simialr problem? It's almost like Safari doesnt recognize you are connected to the internet.

MBP, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

same with me, im able to use mail, xtorrent and adium but i have to use firefox as a browser. ive never had any problems with safari before. any thoughs anyone?

Try this, Quite Safari Application ...

Trash the download.plist

Home>Libray>Safari>download.plist

Relaunch Safari an download anything from Version Tracker ore MacUpdate ??

Thanks Dimaxum, I'll try this tonight. Actually, it's not just the Safari that doesnt connect but Itunes and software update. Mail and Firefox work OK. Weird....

still nothing, should i try and reinstall safari? firefox seems to work fine, as does mail, xtorrent, adium... but software update DOES NOT asks to run network diagnostic and says it was able to connect to the internet but not swscan.apple.com ?

Same thing to me!

I downloaded it 3 days ago, installed it and it never worked. The option to set up the proxy server was grayed out. My IE and firefox are working perfectly (of course I set up the proxy server on each browser), basically Safari doesn't open any web page. I'd like try this browser but I don't have idea how configure it, if anybody knows how to, I'll appreciate it.

I have this problem intermittently. Safari will only load HTTPS pages - FX works fine.

I'm having the same problem with my Safari browser. Have any you managed to solve your problem? If so, can you enlighten me as to how?
