usenet newsgroups file grabber

i've been using nzbdrop which is a pretty good app, but trial is over and i dont want to pay.

something for free for osx, not a reader but for files

Macbook 2.16ghz 1gb ram 8xsuperdrive white, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Have you tried Thunderbird? The same company makes firefox. You can also search at versiontracker.com for newsgroup readers.

im trying thunderbird... can you even download files with this? i think its just a reader.

and theres no field to type in my username and password for my usenet server.
