iPod wont turn off

Question

iPod wont turn off

My iPod, wht, 30GB, 5th generation, wont turn off. The play/pause button doesn't turn it off anymore. I connected it to iTunes and tried to turn it off from there, but no luck either.

Any ideas?

MacBook 2 GHz, 1GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Try a Reset. Toggle hold switch back and forth. Leave hold switch OFF. Then hold the the Menu (top) and Select (center) buttons together for about 6 seconds. You may need to do more than once.

I've got the same problem, 30GB 5th gen, wont turn off. the restarting technique doesn't seem to work for me though, it also has some other quirky problems.
It wont charge on anything other thana pc, and ime sure the chargers and cables work fine because they charge my mates 30Gb video fine.
Truly vexed here lol
