Epson Stylus D78 printer problem

I'm having real difficulty in getting the above printer to work with my G5. I had no success using the installation disc that came with it nor with the supposedly correct driver I downloaded from the Espon website.

There is no D78 listed under the printer driver list and trying some of the other Epson drivers has not worked. When I try using a generic one the job seems to go to the printer and is marked as completed but nothing ever happens.

In Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/ there is a file D78Series.plugin...
The printer is connected via USB.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,
DC

Hi, and a Warm Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Power Mac G5 Forum!

Daddy - it may be a UK model

http://www.epson.co.uk/products/inkjetprinters/StylusD78.htm

dc75 - there is a procedure here

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=599893#599893

that worked for a similar problem with a Canon printer - if you substitute 'Epson' for 'Canon', of course...

If you have other Epson printers, please post details before trying it.

Note - The last paragraph is not part of the fix - it's just to check that bi-directional works. Good Luck.
