Korg Kontrol 49 with Garageband , and using it to play garageband

Hello , When i am looking at the small garageband keyboard and pressing the keys on my Korg , the GB keyboards keys are cooresponding too the keys that i am pressing but thats as far as i have gotten so far ,, no sound . I would really like to be able to use it for GB and have done some searching here and called Korg to no avail . I would be very happy to be able to use the Korg for playing the loop sounds , Thanks for your help . Steve

Thanks Christoph and Roger but i have already downloaded this driver and the little garageband keyboard does already recognize when i am pressing keys ,, it is a USB connection . I however do not have any sound from my Korg and so i need to know what else is needed , ... Where to go and what to check to make sure everything is set properly on the mac ,, i figured it would be automatically configured correctly when connected ,,,, again , it does recognize that there is a keyboard connected but no sound from it . Thanks again .

Other possible things to think about. Does it record but you cant hear it when you play, then you need to turn monitor on. Did you go to GB preferences and change the audio input to that? Also Im supprised the keys corrispond with the ones on Garage band. Are you sure you checked "real instrument" when you selected "new track"? Because if you are trying to use the default piano track that is already there when you open a new project that probably wont work. Try adding a new track and selecting, "Real instrument"

There is no "Monitor" option on a software track, it's always on.

He's using MIDI, there is nothing to set in prefs.

Are you sure you checked "real instrument"

He didn't, he's using a USB cable, IOW a software track, not real

the default piano track that is already there when you open a new project that probably wont work

It's the only way it will work with a MIDI connection.

Try adding a new track and selecting, "Real instrument"

This will not work.

Thanks to all of you for your comments , i sure appreciate it . After reading HangTimes comments to the others , i realized that the mistake i was making was selecting Real Instrument rather then Software . I just figured siince i was playing the keys that it would automatically be a real instrument track , and i didnt even read the GB comments next to each of the 2 selections ,,,,,, I just needed to pay more attention . Thanks allot HangTime and all !!! Steve
