Creating an online portfolio

I have been responding to video listings in my local craigsllist and I keep coming across a request for an online portfolio or 'url'. (Barring my own website.) What would be the easiest/ most efficient way to go about establishing a viewing platform to share or download video for display?
Thanks.

I've created a website using iweb. I've created a "portfolio page" with thumbnails that link to video clips which are encoded in compressor as 320x240 h264 29.97fps streaming files. Think they look pretty good and you can start playing them within a few seconds of clicking on the thumbnail. If you'd like to take a look, there at www.michaelgrenadier.com.

Thanks,

I have been playing with it for the past day and I feel I have achieved mixed results. On my G5, it takes about 3-4min. to download video. However, on different PC's the video download has been much slower. The file size is at least 160MB...is this just par for the course for a big file? I'm trying to figure out how to be more efficient. Thanks again.

Yeah, it does take a long time to download. You could export in a more compressed format. Initially I thought the higher format would demonstrate your problem better, guess I hadn't considered the extra time involved in viewing it. I don't put much to the web. Anyway you might try exporting in Quicktime conversion using MPEG4 with dimensions being 320x240. I think that will make the file smaller and more easily viewed by someone trying to help.

Thanks to everyone for their input ('xprove' looks like a nice option, but not what I was looking for). I was able to come to a solution between the suggestions of D & M. The clips on your page Michael were very effective. I used your advice in compressor and came out with much more user-friendly versions. However, I was still having some issues with Windows users. Then I changed the compression to mp4 and had a remarkable increase in speed. It may have compromised the quality a little but I think it's worth the trade. If you want to compare the versions, www.putfile.com/altaproductions. Thanks again.
