Airport Extreme Dial up and AOL

I have set up the Base Station using info from the forum (See below)
According to Internet Connect it dials the local AOL number and connects. However, once connected I cannot open any of of the browsers I have and have THEM connect. (Error connecting is one of the messages)

Can anyone help? I am wondering if there should not be some way to log in to AOL at somepoint. Perhaps I am connected to AOL and it is at the log in spot waiting on me, and that's why nonr of the browsers will connect?

Setup the AEBS
Connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the LAN port of the AEBS, and then, using the AirPort Admin Utility, check these settings:

AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- AirPort Network Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Create a closed network (unchecked)
- Wireless Security: Not enabled
- Channel: Automatic
- Mode: 802.11b/g Compatible

Internet tab
- Connect Using: America Online (AOLnet, V.90)
- Main Number: <your AOL access phone #>
- Alternate Number: <optional>
- Disconnect if Idle: 10 minutes
- Country: <appropriate country>
- Login Script: America Online
- Ignore dial tone (unchecked)
- Use pulse dialing (unchecked or as appropriate)
- Automatically dial (checked)

Network tab
- Distribute IP addresses (checked)
- Share a single IP address (using DHCP & NAT) (enabled)

I believe I have answered my own question by continuing to research, since no one answered my posting. Decided to enter the solution for the next person who needs help.

Solution is to follow the steps I originnally posted.

Then enter AOL keyword "Macairportfix", and download the file. Update AOL.

Set up a new location and enter "airport" as the method for connecting.

Voila.

I know this topic was from June, but I found it the most helpful.

My question is, the modem in my eMac has died. The eMac will not get online via dialup, and we were not getting DSL anytime soon. We've already tried the usb modem that we use to get online with the MacBook and it doesn't work (its as though the eMac is not recognizing it even if we have the modem settings for the exernal modem). We're assuming right now it would be very difficult to get into the eMac and replace the modem as well.

So my question is, can the airport extreme be used as a dial up modem attached to the eMac? I've tried searching everywhere for an uh, +dumbed down+ instructional on this, but I can't find one.

Oh, and yes we're using AOL--I use the AOL Connect program.
