That's very strange. Well first off, let's get a copy of your iTunes Library to the iTunes engineers for analysis. If the file is not too big, attach it (just the "iTunes Library" file itself) to an email to
our buddy Roy at Apple.
And then the next thing to try is to see if you can get iTunes opened with a second library file. Do this by following these steps:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. While holding down the Option key on your keyboard, open iTunes. You'll see a "Choose iTunes Libray" dialogue appear.
3. Click Create Library.
4. Choose Desktop from the the window that appears (you may have to click the blue triangle to see all your options).
5. Click Save.
iTunes should open, but it will be completely empty. Don't panic, your music is all still on your computer. This is just a new, empty library for testing. If iTunes opens without error, try creating a new playlist, and then quit iTunes. Do you get any errors?
